Venus in the daytime

I have never seen this before - so had to take a piccy!

sorry about the focus - very hard in the daytime...but it shows a definite phase. I was amazed anyway.....

Yep, good one mate. It's the best time to capture Venus. With quite a bit more image scale (webcam) the lit sky turns to black - along with a few gain & gamma tweeks of course.

It was only by sheer chance that I saw it. A few days ago I was lying on my back on the trampoline with my 8 year old pointing out the crescent moon. Venus was quite nearby, and I just happened to pick it up. My first thoughts were maybe I was seeing a new supernova - but no such luck!
