Jupiter 13th/14th Sept. 2010

Almost cracked the big one, but not quite.

Initial stack of 400. I'll maybe go in for another look on this way later. Plenty more to come I reckon!

C11/DBK/F32

Edit: That's a bugger, I wanted to post this one as a PNG but the forum won't take it & I ain't resizing it! A JPG it is..

Wow John that's comparable to several images I've seen from people using 12 and 14 inch scopes together with the DMK camera. Makes one wonder what kind of image you'll be capable of by Sept 21 when Jupiter, the Earth and Sun spread out along a single straight line. I got up at 2 this morning to image Jupiter but once again the clouds got in the way.

Thanks Dave.

Here's the next one. The seeing was off a bit in this one so I processed it somewhat differently & not as heavily as the first one. Io is in the shot.

Edit: On second thoughts, it probably wasn't the seeing. I had a (according to the weather map) a 23KPH northerly, but I'd say it was closer to 18. It was enough to make me lose the dew shield - I'm not into kite flying these days!

Very nice John, good to see you finally getting some descent seeing, reckon if this keeps up your car wont be seeing any more polish for quite a while.

Well done

There's plenty more, but I'm going to finish up posting from this session - It's the boring side of Jupiter & they all start looking the same after awhile. I'll leave you with this one. Decided on dropping back in scale. I still like them small & crisp.

2X Barlow.

Thanks for looking & the nice comments.
