And to think it reaches opposition in Jan, before you know it it will
be gone again... man I must of got used to Mars ever so slowly rolling
on round the everything else seems to be whipping along.

Great shot Bert!! well done, my last imaging session was in the early
hours of the 28th and I must say Saturn looked the best I have ever
seen it. But my focus was on o'l Luna with a job I been trying to
finish for months.

regards,CS

Nice one Bert, very nice.
When you get a chance, post some details.
You've got good image scale.

Imaging Discussions

Since Im not too keen on Php Based websites, if anyone wants to discuss imaging methods, setups etc, use our IRC Server. Address is irc.byronit.com / Channels are #astronomers, #imaging, #observatories, #skyalerts and #mms.
If you need help on how to get on there, email me at mro@darksky.net.au.
Thanks All

Care to explain why?

There's loads of discussions on imaging methods, setups, etc, right here on this php based website, bert.

We've got a community here.. i'm not too keen on you posting an image, no text, no details, no comments, and then your only comment is to come back to try and recruit people to your IRC channels to "discuss" it.

People are free to join your IRC channels, I have no problem with that, but if you're going to post an image here at least do the courtesy of posting details etc and try to be a part of this community.

nice shot bert,

I would also rather stay here and discuss details etc, it makes it a nice easy centralised spot for beginners to cut their teeth and learn the tricks of the trade.

I am bemused too, why did you bother posting your image here Bert?? if you
dont like web based chats? I was abit that way myself when a couple of
friends told me about IceInSpace, it took me a few months before I signed up.
And when I did I finally found out what I was missing

I have to agree with Mike here, you are just trying on a cheap shot at
a recruitment drive

I feel disapointed I even replied to your post, sorry man but I already
belong to a dozen or so groups... dont need to join anymore

regards,CS... I hope you find what your looking for

Cool Down Iceman

In response to your message.

Considering Iceman has poked around at our IRC Service before is not that concerning.
Accusing me of a recruitment drive when asked for more information by IIS users and offering them an opportunity to recieve that information is. It wasnt on a main thread. It was posted as a request.

Php websites are bandwidth hungry.
Many remote users remain on 56K dialup in rural areas.

My previous posts have included details on imaging methods, equipment, setups etc as part of this comunity spirit of sharing information.

Yet Iceman begins melting if I offer to assist his members with ANOTHER facility.

I wont be posting here again.

My best regards to other IIS members.

You must have me confused with someone else, Bert.. I haven't visited your IRC channels before. I haven't visited IRC channels since I was into online gaming 2 years ago.

I'm not going to discuss the pros and cons of php websites/forums versus IRC chatrooms or yahoo groups for that matter. Each to their own. They all have pros and cons.

Everyone is welcome to belong to as many groups as they like. I belong to a few other groups as well. But if people ask me a question on those other groups, I answer their question there - that is, I participate in that community as well. I don't tell them to come to IceInSpace so I can answer their question there.

I'm sorry you won't be coming back, you're more than welcome to post here and belong to this community. I just think it's fair that if you post an image and people ask for details, that you answer their questions.

100 percent behind you Ice and Rob.

You post something here ... you chat about it here.

That's pretty straight-forward in my book, and polite.

Yup! I'm behind Ice on this too, not much point in posting an image & not explaining how it was taken & equipment used if asked.

Iceman didn't Melt !!!

We're right behind you Mike.
We are a community, everyone is welcome, if the forum is good enough for you to post your image, why isn't it good enough for you to post a text reply?
