Back from the Blue Mountains where the family and I went for a short xmas holiday for the past 4 nights.
The weather was sunny each day, but also very hot (over 30 each day!) and oh my god, the FLIES! Never seen them so bad..
Well, except once.. at Hume Dam at Albury Wodonga. That was bad. But this was almost as bad, and nonstop, every day.. I think they're immune to Aeroguard up there.
Had a great time, did lots of walking, lots of steps, lots of lookouts, lots of waterfalls.
Did all the scenic world thingos, jenolan caves (Lucas cave), zig zag railway, walked down and up the giant stairway and saw lots of good stuff. Went to watch a sunrise over the 3 sisters, and as I was walking down a fireball shot from West to south across Orion, lasted for about 2-3 seconds. Very nice.
Anyway i've caught up on some threads, heaps more to look at still but will get to 'em in the next few days.
Catching up with Rod for new years eve at the entrance tonight, and kulnura observing with the gang tomorrow night.
