Jupiter, Aug 28

After a solid week of cloud and rain... finally some clear sky and good seeing. You can see the two storms in the NEB are spiraling around each other...

I was late in starting the session - my filter wheel stopped working and had to be dismantled and re-lubed, I guess it doesn't like the seaside conditions...

cheers, Bird

A Brilliant result Bird, the level of detail is incredible.

To be able to actually image those white ovals with such definition as to clearly show the spiral structure as they become entwined is quite an achievement.

Regards
Trevor

Yep, that is an excellent image, hope you get many more clear nights after that week of rain and cloud. I have been watching the weather conditions up your way and have wondered if Broome could be clearer and with slightly less jetstream on occasions compared to Exmouth.

All the best.

The details you get in your latest shots is really freaky. Amazing clarity.

Thanks guys. Lester, Broome might be next year or the year after :-) I'm pretty well settled in here for this trip until the end of September.

cheers, Bird

Two good nights of seeing and several nights of above above seeing, looks right now better than down here. Superb detail in that image Anthony. One must have the seeing to get great images. Well done the processing.

Thanks Paul. The jetstream has been a real hazard this year, I reckon if I'd gone a bit further north then I'd have been clear of it 90% of the nights. Maybe Broome or Darwin next year :-)

cheers, Bird

Thanks David. Leisa was here for the last 3 weeks - you can see the trip from her perspective here:

She went back this afternoon on the plane... I don't think she's looking forward to the weather waiting at home, but she couldn't stay the whole 6 weeks.

cheers, Bird
