Trevor, did go down to the bottom? It's a long way, even in a chopper. My photos of the GC from 10 years ago are on film, and I'm not sure I can find the negs.

No, we didnt take the flight to the bottom.

This is a new area that has only opened up in the last 2 yrs. It is only 2.5hrs drive from Las Vegas. This one you cant walk down, you can only go by helicopter.

We only took the helicopter flight out over the rim and along the canyon.

Thats a great panorama. I remember bicycling all along the southern rim of the Grand Canyon 11 years ago. It's an unforgettable scenery, and especially the sunsets are spectacular.

What I found most unusual about the experience is the USA being such a litigious country with every man and his dog trying to sue for anything. Yet, you go to place like this, where you have 100s of people scampering around on rocks and dirt paths without the most simple of safety fence. One stumble and you are on an express elevator to the canyon, floor 2000ft down to the next level.
