Jupiter Aug 26th NEB merger

Hi All,
Imaged Jupiter this morning in poor seeing over a 2 1/2 hr session.
There is a high pressure system on the way which should be centered over Broken Hill tomorrow night, but although the sky was clear this morning the seeing was still effected by a low pressure trough and the jetstream.

Following on from an alert of an iminent merger of two white ovals in the NEB issued by the BAA, I was able to image these two features albeit in poor seeing.

Have attached 2 of my RGB's, the first with the GRS and Oval BA and the second with the two white ovals in the NEB, very close together.

It will be interesting to follow this merger over the next several days.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Hey Bird, the jet is looking good for me tonight and tomorrow night and great for you Sat, Sun & Monday nights, just hope the cloud clears late tonight as it did last night.

With the crook seeing I have had I have been captureing 8 bit AVI data but this morning I went with 16 bit FIT files, just in case I got some good data, I live in hope that I will get some descent data over the next couple of days.

Thanks Angelo, these two white ovals in the NEB seem to have come significantly closer, even in just the last couple of days.
They are even closer now than they were in your most excellent image from Aug 25th.

I am hoping for some descent seeing to make some hi res images of this event.

Cheers
Trevor
