Minkowski 2-9 "Butterfly nebula

Continuing my plan to image the more obscure, here is Minkowski 2-9, or M2-9 for short. The seeing was really good but was some cloud interfering, only got 20 minutes in, but it doesnt need deep exposure as its surface brightness is quite high. Resolution is pushing my gear to its limit.

4x5 mins ISO400. Hutech Modded 350D,UV/IR filter, Baader MPCC coma corrector. Off axis hand guided

This is the first time Ive managed to get hints of detail in the "wings" of the nebula.

Another little tagger in Scotty's net

Mate, one look at good star charting software and there are lots of these "bug"gers in the sky at the moment...you could be going for a life time
