Melbourne Star Parties?

Any good star parties where I can check out some refractors in Melbourne coming up. Or is anyone willing to take me for a set run of their TEC, AP, TAK 130mm-140mm. Im on the list for an AP but wouldnt mind to look through something that will cut it for the next 9plus years while I wait for the AP.

Thinking about a TEC or TAK in the meantime. I read reviews but they just do cut it, there other people views not mine. I guess its like look though some else glass sometimes you dont see what they see.

The ASV has their inaugural "Galactic Centre" star party in mid September:

MPAS has monthly viewing at their site at The Briars in Mornington on the first Friday of every month (there may be a couple of refractors, but always members to talk to and get an opinion).
