Terrestrial meets the sky

Greetings All,

Captured this not so long ago of the power station I work at.

It took a bit of calculating to get the location and exact timing spot on (only a few 10s of seconds).

On one hand it's quite contrasting and on the other, it shows the frustration I (we) have with light pollution. White light is fairly nasty with its wide spectrum and this light is quite noticeable for up to 100km away and we're only 2.5hrs from Perth!

Anyway, I often feel I'm the only one in this industry where I try to have an input into the design and layout but the industry is so cut throat from a cost perspective so $$ takes priority. Here's one for the election - a light rent resource tax (LRRT!)

Hope you enjoy / ponder / throw daggers at.

Canon 40D, 50mm F1.4 at F2.8, 1 sec.

Darrin...
