[SOLD] 8" Skywatcher Newt Reflector

Hi all,

I have an 8" Newt Reflector that I am no longer using and would like to see it get some use. I have modified the scope by putting a low profile focuser on the scope when I was using it for astrophotography. The scope works well and has been sitting idle for a while (Protected). Looking for $250 for the scope with pickup prefered as I no longer have the boxes for the scope anymore..

Scope is about 4.5 years old and has not been used in the last 2 years. It is a 8", F5, 1000mm scope.

i would be interested in seeing those pictures robert. How old is the scope? i assume it is about 1000mm f5 or around that?

These 8" Newts are a fantastic way to get into observing and astrophotography. MPCC is a handy investment for astrophotography. Awesome bang for buck.

Just wondering what kind of mount would be needed for this scope?
and how much would said mount be worth?

To use this scope you would need to purchase an EQ5 mount or larger... (EQ5, HEQ5, HEQ5 Pro, EQ6 etc....) Check the astro shops for prices...

Don't sell yourself short! This 'scope would be great on a Dobsonian mount that would cost no more than $50 to build. I have the same 'scope on an HEQ5 Pro mount, but I'm buildiing a Dob mount to give me the flexibility to use it easily and conveniently. The SW 8" OTA is well made with very good optics. $250 is very good value for anyone wanting a great 'scope.
