vdB 144; Wow....

.... not much there except a whole lot of stars! It appears to be the
very, very faint nebulosity in the center of the frame.

Yeh, Wow is a good word, that must be pretty faint, lovely image.

Mr Van den Bergh must have had good eyes

The nebulosity is well seen on my screen but the dark dust is and would be very hard to see visually. Nice capture Tom

Interestedly enough, I emailed Dr. van den Bergh last year and linked him to my vdB images. He stated he had seen most of them only from the POSS plates; not in color. He called them his "old friends".

Great shot Tom

Very faint neb, almost transparent!!!. All over the place though. And there's some HII there as well scattered through the pic.
