The Moon vists the Emu (Ultra Wiiiiide)

Hi All,

This is an ultra wide shot of the Milky Way from Carina to Scorpio with the crescent moon providing a counterpoint. Omega Centauri, Artcturus and Spica also making cameos in the photo

It was shot with a 5DII, a Sigma 15mm Fisheye lens, F5, ISO1600 and 20'' of exposure.

I liked how the full Emu shape could be seen along with the moon as a starburst.

Thanks for the feedback!
Luis

Only just saw this one, I love the wide view, I think some sort of object in the foreground would make it, but as it is, very nice FOV! I think also if you had longer on the image >20" then it would make the Emu more prominent. I know it's difficult with the moon there though.. Nice work, love the rest of your work too.

Thanks for the feedback Warren, Marc and Andrew.
Living at the other side of the world I post when everybody is sleeping and I'm also new, but I hope to be around for a long time, somebody has to watch the other side of our planet!
I appreciate your feedback!

That's a great shot and I really like many of your images on your website too. I might have to try something similar but I suspect it will not turn out as good.

Great shot, moon makes the scene and gives it life IMHO. Buenos Aires in one of my favorite cities in the world. I use to consult for Petroleras San Jorge back in the 90's and loved having coffee near the corner of La Valle and Florida Ave (near the Galleria). I stayed at the Obelisco Hotel (still around?) and would always ask for a corner room facing the Obelisk. Seems like so long ago...

OIC!

P.S. My firefox doesn't report it as suspect... (v3.6.8) What add-on's are you using?

I'd like to know why, my website is hosted at Zenfolio.com does your browser report www.zenfolio.com as unsafe? Does it report other zenfolio accounts as unsafe? If you can give me information I'd like to report this to Zenfolio.

That's fine, it only reports my site because the domain was registered less than 3 months ago. Not a problem if you click "trust".
