rare honeyeater in garden

We have been very lucky in seeing a pair of Eastern Spinebills in our garden

they feed on the aleo vera flowers, they are usually very frighty, but the last

few days,I have been able to come in close and take some photos.

Today I used the 50d for the first time with 400 mm L lens, this is one of the

photos I took,I also got brave and went into CS 5,it is a vast program,I did

some slight massage to the image.

I hope this is of interest

Chris

Gorgeous composition and colour! A little bit grainy, but a lovely image!

What a cutie. Great sharpness but a touch of NR with Neat Image or another NR program would smooth out the background. Great photo

Great shot!

These spinebills are regular visitors to our garden, fast movers with 'clicking' wings.

Cheers

re honeyeater

Thank you all who made a comment,yes-Kieth,I will run some NR program with image,Jenettie gave me a 'Neat Image' program at Astrofest,I think its a demo
one that can be used three times, then one buys the program.

I have heard of other NR programs, such as 'Noise Ninja',but 'Neat Image' seems very popular.I notice that some images on POTN etc,are very nice and smooth, something that I hope to achive one day.

Yes,image does appear sharp, most comments seem to feel it was,I have not used 50d / 400 mm combo for birds much,so was interested to get some feed back,on images from this combo.I feel its a bit harder to use than 450d/400mm.But after positive replies to people viewing this pic, will get out and use it a bit more.

Thanks to all who commented,Chris

Hi Chris,

Beautiful shot and that lens appears to be doing its magic.
