Hi all, just hoping someone can save me reinventing the wheel. H 2's catalogue of 1847 is a marvellous read and observing list. I am wondering if there is an on-line resource that has connected his numbering system to the NGC.

I'm new to astronomy and quite fascinated by all the lists and catalogue systems. I found the following list shows the full list of Herschel's numbering side by side with the NGC numbers. http://obs.nineplanets.org/herschel/h2500.txt
