We've all done the harsh stars thing. Selective sharpening is the go where you only sharpen the key items in the image and not the stars etc. Unsharp mask is not really a very good tool as it sharpens everything and stars look best unsharpened. Sometimes a small amount of deconvolution helps an image but that is also easily overdone and also deconvolution is best done selective (using a mask so only certain areas show the sharpened layer).

Yes Greg, I guess this is one of those steps that everyone goes through with just using the unsharp mask tool. I will give it a repro and selectively sharpen along with a few of my other images.
