Spark Trails

Hi all,

Here's the last of my images from last weekend's camping trip - this time playing around with campfire sparks again. I like how the spark trails map the hot air currents above the fire. Hope you like them too...

My wife is a Chef and it actually reminds me of when she has done spun sugar with all that inter-twining.

Great stuff Steve! Can you give us some details,eg equipment and settings?

Malcolm, these were 1-2 second exposures using my K100D and 18-50mm lens at f/5.6 and 800 iso. I was banging a stick against the logs in the fire to generate sparks during the exposures (much to my 8 year old son's delight!)
