money transfer question

Hi all, i have a question regarding a wire transfer of money to the states.

I do not have a credit card so the only alternative is a money transfer.

It will be a direct deposit into their account.

I think western union offers this kind of service, but i have never done one so i could use some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Try an International Money Order. Cost ~$8.50 & is safe. Get 'em @ PO. L.

Try paypal? If they've got a paypal account (and you do to) you can paypal money to them.

Usually you have a credit card to debit your side from, but I think it works with bank accounts too.

You can go to the post office and get an international money order, failing all that, as Laurie said.

I recently used my banks internet banking bank-to-bank transfer facility, it allows for overseas transfer, didnt even have to leave my poota. Cost $20, cost more if you go in to the bank to organise a TT or wire transfer.
Once I understood the online instructions, got the other banks name, address and routing number it worked a treat.

However not all banks offer this service mines HSBC (one the best in my view)
