It's an Russian or Chinese T tail airliner with the nose wheel on fire. Have a closer look at the tail of the aircraft. The brakes over heat and set the tyre on fire.

The local papers here are saying that it had something to do with the military.

An hour's drive from the Xiaoshan Airport, the air force conducts regular take-off and landing drills, as well as training recon runs across the area, from a domestic airport (like RAAF does at Williamtown)

Maybe one of these fighter jets had gear issues, and they had to close the airport to let it down safely?

As of this morning, there was no locally publicised official explanation.

Military aircraft do not talk to civil aviation authorities if a covert operation is taking place.

The 2 photos seem to be of 2 different objects.

Photo #1 is quite obviously an earoplane on fire that is quite close to the ground. You can see the lights on through the cabin windows.

Photo #2 seems to be a comet or similar & is at a VERY high altitude.

Without researching, & at first look, I'd say these to photos are not linked.
