I wouldn't buy those Warren. I think you'd be a lot happier with a 20mm Skywatcher super plossl or Meade super plossl, or you could place a wanted ad for a 20mm TV plossl or one of the high quality 5 element plossls(Celestron Ultima, Antares Elite, Parks Gold, Orion Ultrascopic).

Do we get a picture of what a mower does to an eyepiece

OK I will arrange a picture although it is still a sore point I am not sure if I am completely over it yet. You don't want a picture of my face after I found it do you.

If I may suggest the GSO SuperView 20mm, 68 deg field of view, great eye relief, and cheap as, $49 at Andrews. I've got the 30mm & 15mm SuperViews, LOVE 'EM.

I believe they are much better quality than plossls.

Nearly forgot, I just got my hands on the 20mm SuperView too, nice as!

$39! They've come down! Don't often see that with retailers.

Your 10" dob is f/5? If so, a 40mm EP is too long for your scope. You'll begin to see the shadow of the secondary mirror. The 30mm would be a better match.

For its price, it is a gem, the entire line is. I've used EPs three times the price, for three times the disappointment.

These of course are not Panoptics, etc, but they really are very good, and not too heavy either.

As promised here are the not so happy snaps not real good images the EP is still going to be used my neighbour found it it had flew through the air with the greatest of ease leaving a great dint in her wall from the mower and she asked if I didn't want it if she could have it for checking out jewels so it will still get some use. Actually it came off better that I thought it would they must be made of tough stuff it wasn't just a push mower but a big one like the council use.

I think I read 'Japan' on the barrel Warren - that's a bit sad. It actually survived better than I thought it would.

Woah Warren, that's sad. But I enjoyed seeing the pics of how an ep survives a mower - who gets that chance Errr, sorry.

I've read plenty of times, that they make the better quality ep's quite tuff. I have a graze on my Vixen lvw and by the look of that graze it looked like it got a really good wollop - but the ep is so solid and heavy, you could see it would take a lot lot more, and it works beautifully despite this, hasn't affected optics at all.

Now if that happened to my Pentax XW, a funeral would be performed, people would be invited, and monetary gift giving would be encouraged. Wouldn't surprise me if a choir was present either, all this whilst hubby yelling at me telling me to get over it, that I'm crazy.

Its OK Suzy I am almost over it I only get tears in my eyes twice a day now I am sure it will get easier with time and a new EP.
