Excellent composition I like the diagonal meta-line that leads the eyes thru the photo. Very nice colors and atmosphere too. Add a great title and you have hit!
I've always been drawn to photorealism in art, it shows not only a masterful hand but masterful eye.
The inverse is also true, as you've so keenly demonstrated here.
The background fog gives pastel shades you'd only expect to find in a painting...damn H, you're real good at this.
hey H how about you HDR the image a bit more to bring out the moss and mould on the tree on the left, looks a bit odd
I don't understand. Doesn't appear to be an HDR shot to me. He did mention it was foggy and I assume early morning, which would explain the soft light.
Only 5 million years more? I better get a move on!
I was so surprised at how green the whole area was. One I'll definitely be revisiting soon.

It wasn't too cold, but, walking whilst prepared for adverse weather makes you sweat in the humidity something chronic. Still, I was very happy to be out there amongst it. Will go back soon.

Just like me, I prefer neoclassical paintings such as those of Rembrandt and Eybl. My father's childhood and teenage charcoal drawings resemble photographs, too. I wish I had his talent.

Cheers. The sunlight was fleeting in and out through all the fog and clouds. The photograph doesn't really do the place justice; I was quite high up above it all -- those trees seem to go down forever. There's a descent that's hidden behind the ferns in the foreground, unfortunately. I was standing in a prickly bush trying to get this, and, couldn't move any further, unfortunately. Will try another angle next time.

Very cheeky! But, I do agree with the tree on the left. It's so annoying. I can't really change the composition, though. If I crop from the left, I also have to crop from the top or bottom to maintain my 3:2 print ratio. It kind of ruins the image. Live and learn.
