Twine and Thingspeak

I recently purchased a Twine from Supermechanical and placed in in my observatory. It records various things, can have sensors attached that measure ambient light, has temperature, orientation - actually you name the sensor, it can pretty much be attached to this and report on it in some way.

The company is a start up, so they are still getting some bugs sorted out, but I've managed to get it reporting the temperature and have started up a channel on Thingspeak.com to record this in real time (as the Twine rules are triggered that is).

I wonder what else can be plugged in to monitor conditions and ambience in the observatory while I'm not there? Getting wifi signals inside the farroday cage I have apparently built will be a challenge, but I plan on using a simple antenna relay to bounce signals inside the cage from outside...I wonder how successful that will be!

Here's the channel I have set up:

Here's supermechanical's page:

I think there are a few SkySlabs out there

It's a cute name for a home made thing on a slab. I could name it something else if you like though - not wanting to tread on your toes here?

Excellent.

Perhaps I could add something to the name like they do with the Shuttle (oh..that's right...'did' with the Shuttle).

Nah, no problem, I ain't got copyright on it and kinda nice to think we are a network now, just like the big array. SkySlab I, SkySlab II, etc etc. We should encourage it's use . SkYSlab Network, gotta nice ring to it .. shades of Matrix !!

Just kind of amused me when you think you've thought of something original you discover ....
