Saturn June 23rd+storm animation.

Hi All,

Captured what is left of the chain of storms that I last imaged June 3rd. My initial RGB data set last night was in quite good seeing but from then on the seeing went down hill, effected by cloud passing through. In the RGB I have attached, the storm structure is over near the western limb in the STrZ.

I have attached the previosly mentioned RGB with the SED's related storm structure along with an animation of 3 RGB's, it is much dimmer than it was previously but still very extended in longitude.

There are also some very interesting features along the border of the EZn and NEB. Seems to be a cloud feature moving west from approximately the CM plus a much larger feature that is initially west of the CM that moves across to the east of the CM in the attached animation of these 3 RGB's.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Hi Trevor

What beautiful, spaceship quality images of Saturn! It took me a few moments to recalibrate my eyes before I glimpsed the storm – terrific work as usual.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful images, so beautifully capturing the surface dynamics of this most photogenic of all gas giants.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks very much Dennis, nearly good enough data to tolerate a little extra work.

Fantastic images Trevor in many ways, contrast, colour and the animation showing the storm feature.

Thanks for the view.

Thanks Troy, it was nice to see some sky with less cloud in than has been the case for this last month or so.

Thanks very much Bird, this was the best seeing I have had since your visit, shame it didn't hold in for a little longer.

Thanks Clayton, it is always a great pleasure to image Saturn, especially if the seeing cooperates a bit.

Thanks very much Lester, Saturn is such a special planet and is the first object that I ever observed through a telescope, (thanks Steve).

Tracking the changing morphology of these electrical storms has been my main focus for a couple of years now and it is nice to know that it is also of interest to other amateurs.
