Baader Solar Film

Hi guys. So where can I get some Baader Solar Film from in Australia? ANd before anyone says get it from here "http://www.aoe.com.au/", they are currently closed down. So what are my options or am I going to have to buy it OS and get it sent to Australia? ALl I am after is the normal A4 size piece, so I can make some solar filters for my finderscope and my binoculars.

Greg, that stuff used to be an easy pick up and I used to buy it from Melboure, but alas they too are not there anymore.
Not sure now.

It might be worth giving York Optical in Brisbane a ‘phone call, as I purchased an A4 sheet of visual solar film from them a few years ago.

Cheers

You could also try Telescopes & Astronomy online store in Sth Aust, I'm fairly sure they have it as well.

Hi Guys, gave York Optical in Brisbane a call, and they stock the A4 sheet of Baader Solar Film for $29. Because I cant be bothered driving in there (parking is a nightmare!), they are posting it to me for $7. So all in all, still not a bad price! Thanks for the guidance Dennis.

Yes, York Optical at St Pauls Terrace, Brissie. It is very good stuff. The sun comes out white. I have fitted a filter to both my scopes.

Well I thought I would let you know, I got the film from York Optical, and have since made up a solar filter for my finderscope, and also a set for my 10 x 50 binoculars as well. Of course now the sun is completely covered by cloud and has been for a few days! But I will get to test them eventually!
