StarMap HD for iPad now released - $1.19 intro price

Just a few shots from the new version, which is also iOS 4 ready.

I don't particularly like StarMap Pro I must say. It's cluttered and while extremely capable, is too "itty-bitty" for my taste. Nevertheless, it's there for those who like it, and on the iPad rather than the iPhone/Pod it's much more useful than it was.

Here are a few screenshots from my device.

Get it while its cheap!

Agreed an iPad would be a far better user experience however I'll put up with my iPhone... just have to pack a magnifying glass to use in the night.

Better/worse than Voyager Chris? Does the SkyFi work with it? I must say I am more than happy with Voyager.

Don't have an iPad but, never-the-less, it's interesting to see what's available and what it can do.
Thanks for the screen shots.

Regards, Rob

Bart - as in "iDevices", yes. This is the "HD" version designed for iPad specifically, but there are versions for iPhone/iPod Touch as well.

Gary - gimme Voyager any day. I much prefer the UI, and with 802.11 extensibility to control the SkyFi it's a killer. There are several neat tricks that this package does, such as scheduling a nights viewing easily, but I reckon that Voyager will catch up soon with most of the more useful differences.

Humayun - this device is going to change many things in my astronomy over time. The possibilities are literally endless.
