VERY bright ISS pass over Sydney/Canberra NOW!!

ISS will be at Mag -2.3 crossing the southern sky (28 deg up from
southern horizon) from west to east starting around 5:54pm tonight.

Tomorrow night from 6:20pm it will be much higher, and Mag -2.9!!

Cheers,
Jason.

OK, so it was a nice bright pass, but I don't think it was anywhere
neat Mag-2.3, more like 0 or -0.5

It was about the same brightness as a tumbler we saw last night, pulsating from about 0.0 to +3 every 5 seconds.

Cheers,
Jason.

Managed to catch the pass last night with my ED80. Wasn't even aware it was happening. I was just out looking a the moon and saw the ISS scooting past the tree tops. Quickly moved the scope and got a really good view. Amazing the detail I could see. I've never caught it in a telescope before. One advantage of a small scope. Would never have got it with the 16".
