Selene last night

I was able to try out my new acquisition, a modded 450D.

1/400 @ 400 iso, Vixen 102M. Cropped about 30%.

Nice image Tony! It looks like you didn’t punch this one through the Topaz Plug Ins?

Never mind – I did it for you, hope you like!

Cheers

Thanks for your help Dennis,

The image I first posted was pretty basic and done from behind a red haze (from my eyes ). I did do some processing with Topaz, but at the time it seemed a bit over processed. I have worked on the original and I'm happier with what I've come up with.

What do you think?

Nice work Tony.

Does Brendan know that you’re taking photos of the Moon?

Cheers

Dennis, Yes I do.

Tony, for me, the terminator looks a bit green.

Yeah, haven't really done anything on olour balance, just the levels and contrast. the image was shot in raw with the custom white balance that was set in the camera by the previous owner. In the main it makes the camera usable but I might have to play around with the images a bit more. Doesn't look too bad on the work LCDs.

Anyway, how would you know what colour it should be? It's a bit too close to image for you isn't it?

That is the real purpose of the 4" scope... it has a lot of colour, not being Ed and all, but It will have to do. I might try it in the Mak, at f13 the Moon might still fit in the fram, but it will be even slower than the f10 of the Vixen.

Brendan doesn't mind if people look and image anything other than galaxies, he is actually all for it... The less chance that a 14 year old girl can snap up a SN, or any one else for that matter.
