A hand full of images.

Finally got a cloud free week-end to get things sorted out. All these images are out of the 10" newt as I dialed in my new mount on the pier and sorted out guiding and collimination.

M27 is just 2x10min L and 1x5min each RGB and shot north of here which is normally a no go zone for me

I believe I may now have some flex problems to keep me occupied. A number of images are coming up with eggy stars in the center of the image. I switched guiding to maxim to get real numbers and guiding looks spot on all the time yet some images are unusable. I believe 253 may have a few in the mix as well.

I guess if everything just worked then it would get boring

M27, NGC253, M4, M8-Ha, Maxim Guiding.

Considering these images were taken in the middle of the burbs Robin, I think they're terrific.
253 and m8 being my favourites.
Isn't it great to have some clear skies!

Looks like the clear skies aren't going to last long and yes RGB images from the burbs will always be a problem for me here, so I've ordered a couple more narrow band filters to go with the Ha filter. Delivery this week would be nice

Nice set of images Robin! The stars look best on NGC253 - I suspect you may be right re: flex causing the eggy stars. If you have a crayford style focuser with adjustment you should find that increasing the tension on the drive shaft against the drawtube will help.

I've put a moonlight focuser on the F3.8 newt dave, so these are more or less first light from the scope after fitting the focuser, moving the primary around to suit and tuning it up a bit. I'll get it sorted eventually mike but not tonight, just finished work an hour ago after 2 x 3am plus sessions over the week-end. Sleep is sounding pretty good just now
