Long weekend...a few pics

Pic 1 is the old Mannahill Railway Station house.
I took this photo Saturday morning as the sun had just risen and I
was driving at 70kmh with the camera out the driver's side window!
I wish I had stopped and captured a better composition.
A lovely subject. Doesn't do it justice.

Pic 2 and 3 are of a replica(?) 1915 Picnic Day train wagon
which is part of a tourist photo op on the west side of Broken Hill.
Turkish sympathisers fired on the train in 1915 in what I think was the
only hostile act during WWI on Aussie soil. Several people killed including
the two Turks.

I just love the textures of old hardwood and rusty steel. Chris from
QLD (hotspur) took a photo inside his shed one day and the whole shed
oozed old world charm of rustic textures...He does it well, I can't duplicate it.

More to follow...

Second one is great. Makes you feel close to the reality of it.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the nice pictures.

I thought Mannahill Station looked familiar and I checked my archive and had
snapped it in Dec 2002 on the way back from the eclipse. We probably stopped
there all but 15 minutes, but it is amazing how the human brain can recall an
arbitrary image like that.

Best Regards

Gary
