Oh no not another M83.

170m L, 60m R, 60m G, 60m B, ST-10XME BRC-250 scope.
Seeing conditions were reasonably good during the L exposures.

Nice image Steven. The stars look a little fuzzy but the galaxy looks great with lots of detail and lovely subtle colouring.

Steven,

There's some precious data there.

I would say a bit of contrast to kick the dust lanes may be a winner on this.

Otherwise, lovely as per the norm!

Looks great, I was wondering if you up'ed the contrast would it look better. Problem is at the moment I don't know what to expect with deep sky until I start doing it myself but the areas that are clear of stars look like stacked CCD noise. Adjusting the contrast only should bring out the deep black of space.

Not sure what you are seeing Malcolm, but the contrast has been slightly increased.

David it's caused by summing the images. Average or median combining should eliminate most of the defects. Summing requires manually removing the defects.

Thanks Doug. Strange the stars were kept out of the processing.

Not another M83, well so who cares, star colour looks good too me, as suggested by H to lift the dust lanes but I'd be happy with that
