Hi, I`m back again!

Hi everyone,
Well we have only just got home late last week from our 2 week holiday to Sydney and then on to Thailand. What a adventure! Lots of friendly people, too much too eat lots of touristy things done. Both the kids got sick from drinking the tap water and the heat got to them also but they enjoyed themselves too!
It`s the start of the rainy season there but I reckon it has rained more since we got home than on our holiday..
I was hoping to get some nice night time shots or sunsets/twilight ones but way too much cloud..
Now lots of pictures and threads to catch up on...
Oh and here`s a pic of one of my new friends!
cheers Gary

Welcome back, Gary. Was wondering where you've been recently. You'd only just started posting your lovely deep space shots again and disappeared!

H

Here's a tip: don't drink tapwater in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma...pretty much in any Asian country where they peddle trinkets in the street. If you really must drink the tap water, boil it first.

Buy bottled water.

Edit: And even some generic bottled water is dodgy.

Nah... Water is everywhere even in your food. You'll also get sick drinking Oz tap water coming from overseas. It's not a reflection of the quality of the water. There are different strains of bacteria in any water that your body needs to adjust to. Usually takes a couple of days. Jetlag doesn't help as your tired body is more susceptible to this. There's even a name for it "la tourista". Self explanatory

Thanks Mr H, Doug, Marc and Duc......
Good to be back!
Yeah we told the kids a million times not to but you know what 4-5 year olds are like! Even the cheap bottled water was dodgy so the locals told us so we bought the good stuff and being only $2.50au for a 12 pack it was cheap as chips!!!
Can`t believe you can buy s sit down meal with a bottle of coke and it would only set you back $3 or so...

Bangkok was a flop with all the red shirt problems, curfews at night and nearly all the shops closed in the city centre, but we were able to do some shopping at markets and some local shops.

A picture of Bangkok with lots of black smoke from the protesters and some locals swimming in a canal. Now those kids must have good immune systems!
