William Optics ZenithStar FD80 Anniversary Edition

Hi guys,

For sale is a William Optics ZenithStar FD80 Anniversary Edition fluorite doublet refractor.

It is an 80mm, f/6.9, 552mm focal length refractor.

Note: this is not the white tube version -- this is the race car red one.

Typical of William Optics scopes, it's a delight to use.

I originally purchased this for widefield imaging, but, it ended up being used as a guidescope. My STL-11000M will arrive this week so I no longer have a requirement for this scope. I have taken only one image through it; click here to view it. Mind you, this is a 2/3rd frame crop towards right of frame.

As you can see, for best results, you will most probably need to get a William Optics 0.8x PFLAT-II focal reducer/field flattener, or a William Optics PFLAT-IV flattener for optimal results.

It's been well looked after, although the primary objective could do with a bit of a wipe. I will clean it thoroughly with a Lenspen before it goes to its new home.

Comes with William Optics aluminium case, rotatable focuser, 2" diagonal, 2" to 1.25" adapter, L-bracket, and an extension tube.

If you are perhaps thinking of buying the telescope but are not in a position to afford it all in one hit, I am open to taking lay-by payments over a 2-4 week period.

If you wish to take me up on that offer, I will need a deposit of 20% paid within two days of intention to buy.

Do note, that if you wish to take advantage of the delayed payment, the full price as listed in the original message stands -- non negotiable.

If you think this might make it easier for you, feel free to email me at octane2 AT optusnet DOT com DOT au and we can take it from there.

All correspondence will be kept confidential.

Profiler,

It sure is.

Get in touch via email: octane2 AT optusnet DOT com DOT au

The offer of paying in installments still stands as well now that I'm back in the country.

Hi,
Just a small point but for the inexperienced you may want to point out that it is the red telescope (not the white one) that is for sale. Some may not know the difference.

I own a Zenithstar 80 and they are a great beginner scope, wide field field imaging scope or a very good guide scope.

Regards
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

Good point -- I'll update the ad. Although, the attached links to the scope will show the prospective buyer that it's the red model.

Cheers!

Final price drop: $675.

I used this scope the other night to do some visual observing using crummy eyepieces and I was pleasantly surprised at the view.

Surely someone's after a nice scope for visual or imaging/guiding?
