NGC 6188 LRGB with QHY9

The moon is low and better still the clouds are gone.
Last night I imaged NGC6188 with my QHY9 and standard LRGB filters.
30 minutes each RGB and 90 minutes Lum all in 10 minute exposures.

Seeing wasn't the best but I have imaged at a lot worse.

Repro added to include more of the dust in this area.

Details:
Camera: QHY9 Mono
Telescope: Takahashi FSQ106ED at f5
Mount: G11 with Gemini
Guiding: QHY5 and WO 70mm guide scope
Image: 30 min each RGB and 90 Min Lum
Processed using CCDStack, Photoshop CS4

Hi Doug,
nice to see the all most full extent of this neb complex.
The full res version to me appears over sharpened though.??
I know I've over done sharpening in the past to compensate for soft seeing conditions... it can be a bit of a trap. I tend to think when stars become harsh and stark, looking like an aboriginal dot painting, it's time to back it off.
Of the two posted to the forum, I probably like the second one best because of the brownish dust, making some star areas a golden colour.

Good effort though considering your conditions.
BTW, love those Taka Q's... they produce some of the nicest semi wide images around, especially with to days large chips sizes.

All the best
Rich

This is good work Doug. Something is a miss be it slight, but its not up to your normal quality of work. Bad data perhaps? Not sure. I don't think its sharpening however, more the way the data is stretched. Perhaps try a straight DDP to determine how far the data will go, then attempt to manually match it with levels and curves giving greater control. Keep them coming mate.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Looking back at the data I think the faults in the image have been caused by over processing. When I get time I will give it another go right from scratch. Looking at the second image, yuk, why on earth did I post this?
I think the high res image is suffering from the artifact common with a min filter, so it looks like I have a bit to do to fix it all up.
