The ETX-60AT is Meade’s ‘pocket rocket’ from the ETX family of compact, electronically-controlled, go-to telescopes. Many of these are high-powered, narrow-field Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes, but the ETX-60 is a 60mm x 350mm, f/5.8, multi-coated Achromatic Refractor that provides exquisite widefield optical performance in an easy to use, ultra-portable, lightweight package. It’s the ultimate in automated ‘grab and go’ convenience for using at home or taking with you anywhere at a moment's notice!
The Autostar 494 hand controller can automatically locate over 1,450 celestial objects from its internal database. After an easy, 60-second alignment of the telescope's computer to the sky, you can find and observe named stars, double stars, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, the moon and the major planets from Mercury to Neptune. Just select the target from a scrolling menu in the Autostar display, press GO TO, and watch as the telescope moves to place the object in the field of view. Once an object is located, Autostar directs the telescope to track it automatically. And if you want to explore the sky but aren’t sure what you might enjoy seeing, a “Tonight’s Best” guided tour will automatically determine what can be viewed at that time, date and location, then take you to the best objects one by one at the press of a button!
