I'm an estimator for an Engineering company.

5pm yesterday arvo I submitted a bid to Rio Tinto for $1.25b.

Biggest one I've done was for Exstrata Coal for a mine in the phillipines. US$7.2b
It's amazing working with such values. The boss can give several mllion discount like the local retailer gives a few $$ off the price of an item.

Not 100% sure....
I'm a project manager for an natural gas project but thanks to the vagueries of matrix management I also seem to be my boss's boss and my own subordinate, so if I screw-up I have to chew myself out.
I've given myself 1 written and 2 verbal warnings this year.
I think the tea-lady out-ranks me too.
Its very confusing.
