Ngc 5236

Gday took this image of NGC 5236 last Saturday, had a great night which started off with showing my young niece and nephew some sights {love it when my wife surprises me with babysitting duties }. Was pleasantly surprised I managed to hold their attention for some time and away from the game consoles
Image was taken with a Celestron C9.25 and SBIG ST4000xcm using a 6.3 reducer and self guiding utilised. 15x10min lights, 30 darks, 15 flats with the camera set at -25c. Cheers for looking

Nice extensions to this galaxy Stuart. Details look great, but perhaps an ever so slight magenta cast giving a warm feeling to the image. I don't think I'd alter it however as it does give the HII regions some punch. Well done.

well done, this is becoming a popular target - like the image even though it is a tad purple - must have been the kids . the detail is fantastic!

That's a beautiful shot. Great details and very well defined spiral arms. Top work.

Great to see some more imaging from you Stuart.

What a lovely shot this is and I agree with Jase, leave it as is, it has a really nice feel to it.
Excellent detail in there mate, the C9.25 is showing off.

Very nice galaxy Stuart. The JPG artifacts are a bother though.
