Nova Sco (V1311 Sco)

While testing the new lens in my arsenal (Sun 200mm, F2.8 at f5.6, $25 from flea market), managed to catch this Nova (~13m) on this 12x stack of 30' exposures (ISO1600) .

The lens itself is not bad for the money (1/10 of price I paid for Canon 200mm F2.8 FD), but it behaves just slightly worse (with external aperture, of course. With internal one it is terrible, like all lenses of similar design, including Canon 200mm).
North is up.

Bright stars to the left are u2 & u1 Scorpii. Diffraction spikes around them are due to less-than-perfect aperture cutout - I cut is out of black cardboard with scissors. More precise cut would result in none of those

That's a good image at Mag13 with a $25 lens. A Laser cutter would do wonders for your external aperture masks.
