4/5ths of a southern Pleiades

Well what a waste of a night’s imaging. All 5 hours of it. I lined up on the southern Pleiades and was ready to start the session and Abba came into the dome licked my hand and startled me. I jumped back and bumped the counterweight bar. Now note at this point I was auto guiding and had perfectly framed the cluster, it didn’t scream at me for loosing the guide star. What must have happened is that I very quickly bumped the scope and moved it to another guide star which it picked up on and happily kept going. I should have rechecked it but because I saw a guide star still being guided on I left it.

So here is a sample RAW from the 5 hours of wasted 4/5ths Southern Pleiades…………

I will post the final image later after i process it

Bummer David. But another lesson learn't. I think we have all had these sort of nights. My best was a good few hours of Bahtinov mask image. You could see the focus shift with temprature over the night.
Live and learn.

Only one thing to do. Put the dog on manual guiding duties for the next shot. That'll teach him

Maybe change the dog's name?
