M83 From Rock Nest Observatory

This is an image of M83 which is a cooperative effort between Louie Atalas and myself. Louie did all the post stack processing while I captured the photons and did the initial callibration and stacking.

This image was captured with a RCOS 12.5 ST8XME combination.

L 45 * 5 unbinned
RGB 15 * 5 binned 2* each

That is a really nice picture guys. Not too sure about the inner core color right in the center but the resolution of the blue star forming regions and the Ha areas is outstanding. Top work indeed.

PS: Is the picture mirrored?

Hi Marc

Thanks so much mate for the feedback, we both appreciated ! yes,I let the core get away from me so at some stage I'll have another look at It but not being happy with the overall look I decided to reprocess It and hopefully this rendition is a touch better.

Lars, thanks so much for letting me play with you excellent data on this galaxy, hope I've done It justice mate.

St8xme

Thanks Guy

For DSO's the ST8XME and RCOS is an almost perfect combination. It is also a lot easier to stack the images afterwards

Cheers

Lars
