Modified Canon EOS Battery Grip

Hey Guys,

I have just finished an afternoon project, modifying a EOS battery grip that is powered from a 12V Car Accessory Socket (AKA Ciggie Lighter Socket).

It is EMI filtered, reverse polarity protected and regulated. It has come to a relatively low cost, and best of all it works!
Thoughts and cements, as always will be appreciated.

Looks like a nifty bit of handy work to me, well done.

And it's Sooo nice not to have to swap batteries.

Nice use of a Jaycar multi-voltage regulator board, Definately see you are not using your good camera. Good job looks neat.

Those Jaycar regulators are very handy when I am too lazy to reinvent the wheel, good spotting!

Justin,
The lack of swapping the batteries around is the reason I made this, I've been getting into time lapse videos of recent, this demands a lot of power out of the poor little batteries.

Truth be known, the entire build including the battery grip came to about $70, which is only a little bit more than the cost of a new battery, I'm sure it could be built even cheaper.
