ISS and Shuttle double transit

hi everyone,

I was out observing with my telescope when i looked up and low in the south i saw a really bright dot,and as i have seen the iss before i think i could confirm that it was it but then about 1/2 a degree or so in front was another dot fairly bright,i'd say somewhere near 0 magnitude and it was moving in sync with iss and i didn't know if it was by chance that there was another sattelite or if it was a shuttle and so i checked heavens above and confirmed that what i was seeing was in fact the iss and space shuttle discovery which was pretty cool for me as i have never seen a double transit before.

Just to let you guys know there i checked heavens above today (19/4/10)and it says that the iss( and space shuttle,i think it is not going to be docked) is coming over my place at low altidute to the south,so anyone living in south nsw,SA,victoria and Tasmania will be able to see it.

Clear skies

Thanks for the heads-up Orestis! Nice low pass here, with the shuttle 1 minute ahead of the ISS. Took a heap of snaps of the Southern Cross with the craft passing below, and made a composite of the two passes in Startrails.

Cheers -

Excellent stuff Rob

I had the camera all set up and waiting and then this huge cloud comes right over my place and obscures everything. i saw the iss through a small sucker hole but that was it.

i'm glad you got to see it and take some good photos of it.

Regards Orestis

Even the wife was impressed Rob. Pretty hard to impress her with "all of this astrophotography mumbo jumbo".
