SD card slot not working

HI

Just wondering if its possible for SD card slot to be fixed,My lap top has one,and its been good, this morning it goes in ,but nothing happens,do I just get a card reader?or is there something that can be done to get it working again?

I tried a couple of different cards,no luck. The sound is slightly different to before,so may be a pin is bent or something.

Advice Please! thank you,Chris

There may be something inside that is fouling the pins, see if you can shine a torch in there and maybe blow some air down into it. If it's not making the same "click" noise maybe the pins of the card are not being pushed onto the pins inside the reader.

You could try pulling the laptop apart if it is simple enough.

Pretty sure you can get those 4 in 1 card reader units relatively cheap these days.

re slot card

Thanks Simon

Had a look with torch, and blew some air with air can of 'dust away'

No improvement,Think I might give pulling lap top apart a miss!,a 4 in 1

card reader for $20 will have to do.Have others had this problem?

cheers Chris

I have the same problem with my hp when I upgraded to Win 7.

Card Reader is the solution.
