Welcome icemanswife

and icemanswife.

Don't tell me he's got you hooked What sort of scope is he buying you for xmas and how many Naglers? Make sure you get your fair share of time on that 350D

If you haven't decided what sort of scope you want I'd suggest a 14" celestron on a Losmandy Atlas mount with gemini, a 100mm apo Tak for a guidescope and the Canon 20Da camera for imaging. I'm sure if you talk to bird he will be able to suggest a good planetary imaging camera

Great advice there Paul

I only wish she was as interested in astronomy as that

My wife Kate signed up today.. i didn't know what she was doing but she even had to ring me to ask what her email address was.. then I get the notification of a new member signed up

She was obviously bored at home today, with 2 out of 3 kids at school/preschool.. she also said that now she's signed up, I have to learn how to cross-stitch or do something crafty!

I guess maybe now that she's a member she can PM me and save on the phone bill

hmm, I wonder if she's allowed to enter the xmas quiz..

I would panic if my wife ever signed up. I would have no secrets, she would know exactly how much I have spent, and she would know what I was up to.......... but on the other hand at least there might be more to talk over at the dinner table. Astronomy is taboo in our house in discussions with my wife.

Welcome Icemanswife!!

Welcome icemanswife,

We have a really nice community here on IceInSpace and everyone is willing to help with any querries you may have.

How did you hear about IIS?
Are you attending Lostock?

Your husband actually would enjoy cross-stiching while he waits for the avi's to process.

Oh yes, I can see it now I have a cross stitch program that can convert jpegs to cross stich patterns and thread colour numbers Mike. I can see a lovely raised tapestry of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn on a silky black backdrop, mounted in a 3d frame

I was wondering about the competition

Definately go in the competition Kate. And then when you win the Nagler hold out for as long as you can to get as much as you can for it. I should be worth at least a weekend away for two on Hayman Island

You're definately on the right track Kate. Really shock him and put the latest Australian Sky and Telescope and Sky and Space in the "small room" for light reading

Mike
Your wife's profile says she's in Wyoming....and you're in the land of OZ. Isn't this taking web marriage/dating to an extreme? Please explain how the children were conceived...

I've got one of those cross-stitch programs already, h0ughy.. though i'm worried to learn that you have one too

Tom, i'm sorry I can't go into that.. the forum guidelines forbid it

I guess the good thing about Kate signing up, is that noone else can take the "icemanswife" member name

Kate, you and my wife would get on like a house on fire.
She's into all things craft too and as for this astronomy stuff well ....

Actually she doesn't mind a look at the stars, except she gets dizzy looking up for to long.

It's great having you part of the forum.
Enter the competition, you deserve to win.
