ETX-125 Meade Mak-Cassegrain with Goto

If you're an apartment dweller or such, and would like a convenient yet high-performance go-to telescope for planetary and some DSO visual+ imaging, this scope is the bees knees. Here's a link to a CN review: http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=963

Includes: Meade ETX-125mm (5") Maksutov Cassegrain scope with UHTC coatings, blue tube model, red dot finder, Autostar goto az-el mount and 497 hand controller, CD, Series 4000 25mm Plossl EP, built in flip-mirror, seperate EP and Photography connections, Meade variable T adaptor for the CCD imaging function, but no tripod. Runs off generic 12VDC adaptor. All items in excellent condition, no marks or scratches.

Price $895 Pick up/personal deliver in Brisbane west (~1 hour max). I would be willing to ship, ( I still have the original plastic shipping protector), but no guaranteees on shipping damage, etc.

The Az-el base comes with two threaded 1/4" holes for attaching a tripod asssembly, so coming up with a suitable baseboard for your particular situation should be no big deal. At one time, I bolted it to an old wooden breadboard. Worked fine

Since I built my Obs, it hasn't had much use, so it's time to pass it on to a deserving IIS enthusiast. It's about 18 months old, I bought it new.

Pics are available, although there are a couple of good generic ones in the CN review.

PM's preferred, please

Bump. Now where else can you find a full Meade Az-El GoTo mount plus 5" Mak-Cassegrain with UHTC optics at this price? Tried the price of a decent refractor plus an EQ lately? Also very easy to take inside each night.

As I said above, a great way to get into astro visual and imaging if you're an apartment dweller. Heck, tell your wife you're buying it for your kids for Christmas! It just looks so lonely sitting in my obs.

Oh, and I'll throw in the Celestron Eq Wedge for free that's in my other ad. Now you're really cookin' with gas!
