Ingrown toenails are no fun. I suffered with them all my life and still do. Atleast mine is not painful at the moment, but sometimes it "flares up". I tried removing them myself with limited success only to for them to return. Maybe a trip to the doctor is the only solution

OUCH !!!!

Hope the toes get better soon.

Might be a good time to dig out all those space DVD's and re-watch them again.

That way you can rest 'em.

Yeah good idea thanks for your thoughts. After the left one I am going to get the right one done although I am starting to think about chickening out but next time it gets ingrown I will wish I had got it done.

Hi Warren,
I know exactly how painful this is. Haven't had to worry about them for a while, but at the moment have an attack of Gout in left foot (on the outside). Feels and looks like a few broken bones.Damn painful for sure.
Hope you get better soon.
Cheers,
Duncan

I know how you feel. Both my big toes are ingrown although not painful if left alone, it is still a nuisance. Anyone ever stub an ingrown toenail before? The pain is unmatched. Almost as painful as Melbourne's weather. I've had the right one ingrown off and on for the last 10 years, and the left one decided to follow suit for some retarded reason only recently. This ingrown toenail crap is a bloody curse I tell ya I want to go to the doctors, but the thought of those knifes and scalpels being dug right into it there while I'm fully awake and then being disabled for god knows how long is just yuck Gotta hand it to ya Supernova1965 for going thru with it!

I have to say that while the operation was going on it was interesting I knew what was happening but it didn't relate to the feeling it was just like someone was tugging and pushing on my toe I found it easy to ignore the procedure itself. If you have them bad I would go ahead and do it the pain this morning is much less than stubbing a ingrown toe and I shouldn't have to worry about them anymore but I must admit the pain last night was pretty bad but I am over the worst of it now.

Trimming your toenails with rounded edges, rather than strait-across will help prevent ingrowns.Such was the advice given me 30 years ago and it hasn't failed yet.
