M42 HDR experiment

I had a go at M42 with a variety of exposures on Friday night and finally got around to blending them all together this morning.

This image is a combination of exposures ranging from 4 secs up to 1 min using the DSI II/Newt.

That is a superb shot Peter. One of the best I've seen on the trap. Really well done.

Nice work Peter. The tones and detail in the nebulosity are just fabulous and the resolved stars of the Trapezium a real treat to see at the same time, in the same image.

Cheers

Peter,

Excellent detail, what software did you use for the HDR processing?

Thanks all for the comments. M42 is a great target for HDR and also good for a moon lit night.

Geoff, I stacked the individual exposures in DSS, then did a quick levels adjustment in PS and then converyed the individual 9 images to a single HDR image using easy HDR.
