Just check out the ladies website and this is not sour grapes believe me our amatuers here do far better work and don't try making money out of it

I don't know Trevor.
It is framed nice with the Pliades but i wouldn't have selected it either.
Perhaps it is an effort to get more of the Beginners to submit or something
Who Knows,LOL.
Cheers,
Duncan

I tend to disagree Trevor - I'd be quite chuffed to have taken/produced that photo.

As for the commercial aspect - do you really think she actually sells much?

Just my 2 cents worth.

It's not too bad, but I HATE the fake diffraction spikes.

Personally I think that I (and probably many of us here) have submitted much better photos to them, usually of rarely photographed objects.

Cheers

What I like about the APOD's in general is that are diverse.

Cheers Petra d.

I think it is quite a good photo, the framing and and presentation are quite good.
Good luck to her if she can sell some of her images, both astro and terrestial.

I think its quite artistic, and the earthshine is well presented. Sure, the diffraction spikes may not be to everyone's taste, but you can't please everyone. People will probably buy her stuff and think its wonderful, but as they say, there's no accounting for taste. Also not everyone is an entrepreneur, I always say kudos to those who give it a go, at least they made an effort to do something.
