Ring Transit

Something I noticed last year is that the ring transit is not a smooth transition from one hemisphere to another. In fact Saturn wobbles as the transit occurs. I thought I would show this as a pictorial representation.

Fabulous images there Paul, even just over the last month the rings have closed up a lot compared to February, and now that we're past opposition they'll start opening up again. It's a strange dance.

cheers, Bird

Would this be unique to Saturn or does the presence of the rings just make it more obvious?

I love IIS, something to learn every day.
