NGC 6334 - Cats paw Nebula

hey all, just thought ide share my weekends work.

Conditions where absolutely horrendous 100% cloud cover then when the clouds parted as per usual the wind started howling though so i had to resort to the wind monster ED80 setup as not to have a compleate waste of time trip out to the woods.

12 x 600 second ISO 800
no mpcc, darks, flats or bias
ED80 + 40d, Finderguider + DSI
EQ6pro + PEC

Stacked in CCD Stack

Not bad at all. Given your imaging conditions I was expecting a wind swept picture. Looks great!

I haven't got this one yet & I'd be most happy with that.
Ah Brendan the mistress of astrophotography can be most cruel...but she came through in the end so that's OK.

... Mistress is definately cruel... its only because of the windmonster setup that i havn't been whipped to death. In anycase how is good old Humptydoo has berry springs become one and the same im envious of you with the lovely skies (lived there for 22 years)...

Humpty Doo & Berry Springs are still seperate...for the moment.
Big plans for a satellite city like Palmerston plonked down next to Noonamah, that'll join them.
They're calling it Wadell, we call it Waddle.
Not looking forward to all that light pollution.

If it's been a few years since you where here you'd be amazed at the size of Palmerston now, almost made it to the Howard Springs lights where the old Stuart hwy used to split in two.

A growing city, spoiling our lovely skies.

Thanks frank, nearly all my images from november to now have been taken in god awful weather and i think the 40d is at its boundary of taking decent images as the noise is insane. Cant wait to head to the cooled CCD track... mmmm

JD, i was up there not last july but the july before, and was amazed how how much things had moved along, when i left they where just starting the oxygen tower in the city, and Lyons was still in the planning and tender stage i worked for hansons so i saw what was happening around the place!
