Saturn. March 19

Some nice seeing for a short while last night, just after midnight. The wrong longitude to see the storm, but there is some nice cloud detail present, and the seeliger effect seems to be starting as the rings are definitely brightening up.

regards, Bird

Saturns rings get very bright just a couple of days either side of opposition due to light from the sun being reflected more strongly back toward the earth.

Best of the season Anthony. Lovely work!
Can I ask how many frames in each channel?

Thanks everyone. Darren I stacked 1400 frames in each channel out of about 2200 available. The captures were 90 seconds in each channel at 25fps.

cheers, Bird
